The funeral of Christal St Omer was filled mostly with young people not far from her own age. The 17-year-old’s body was found in the Cap Estate area on August 25 after she had been missing for three days. St Omer was laid to rest on Wednesday at the Gros Islet church with thousands in attendance and no shortage of tears. Students of the school she most recently attended, the Castries Comprehensive School, paid special tribute to the young woman, who had disappeared shortly after collecting her CXC results. A 19-year-old was arrested and charged with causing her death.
