Comedy Play for Saint Lucia Independence in Brooklyn

A group of Saint Lucian actors and actresses will make you laugh and reminisce over Caribbean folk tales about the Soucouyant and Obeah Woman in the play “Zingay”. The play is produced by Heat Wave Productions under the auspices of the Office of the Consulate General of Saint Lucia in New York. It will be staged as part of activities to celebrate the island’s 37th anniversary of independence.

“Zingay” was written by accomplished Trinidadian playwright Freddie Kissoon. It will be staged at the Brooklyn Music School Theater, 126 St. Felix Street, Brooklyn on Saturday, 20th February from 8 pm. Tickets are $30 and are available online at “zingay.eventbrite.com”, Conrad’s Bakery on Utica Ave., Offices of the Consulate General or by calling 1-347-692-9428.

This group is returning to the stage after many requests since the successful showing of its last play “Letter from Leonora” in 2013. Karen Joseph and Curtis Browne play the lead roles.
The supporting roles are played by Tala Albert, Marlon Gervis and Sharon James. The play is directed by Professor Faith Armstrong and Marlon Gervis is the Executive Producer.
