On Sunday 2 December 2012 about 11:20pm, Officers attached to the Marine and Drug Units pursued and intercepted a vessel named “Jah Guide” off Moule A Chique, Vieux Fort within the territorial waters of St. Lucia. The said vessel is from the Dennery area.
The vessel was boarded and a search was conducted on it as well as its occupants. The officers discovered two Hundred and fifty Two (252) pounds of compressed dry green plants material suspected to be Marijuana.
At the time of the interception, there were four occupants onboard the vessel including a Vincentian National. One of the occupants sustained a gunshot wound to the right upper thigh area and was transported to St. Jude’s Hospital where he was treated.
All four individuals were arrested and taken into custody. The vessel was also seized.
Charges are expected to be laid against them soon.
