Department of Education announces Alternative Pathway for Common Entrance Examination Students

359

The Department of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations takes this opportunity to congratulate all the students who were successful at this year’s Common Entrance Examination. We wish you all the best as you continue to strive for excellence.

In keeping with the Department’s ethos of No Child Left Behind, the Department of Education wishes to offer parents and students another pathway which can lead to student success. In September 2019, the Center for Adolescent Renewal and Education (CARE) in partnership with the Department of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations offered places to students who performed below 30 percent in that year’s Common Entrance Examination. These students were admitted into the Junior Life Programme (JLP) with the option of reintegrating into a secondary school upon completion of the JLP or continuing into the Adolescent Development Programme at CARE.

Parents of students who attained a grade of 30 percent or less are encouraged to consider CARE as a pathway for their child. Should you wish to do so, please contact the School Supervision Unit at 468-5261 or ceosecretary@education.gov.lc
