Digicel continues to give back and brighten the run-up to Christmas for residents of communities across Saint Lucia. Digicel’s management team and staff converged on the community of Soufriere on Saturday November 21st to make the Christmas season brighter for residents and for the six families who suffered major loss as a result of the devastating fire on October 24th.
Team Digicel, as part of the company’s “Brighten Your Christmas Campaign” visited the west coast communities of Anse La Raye, Canaries and Soufriere offering patrons and residents handset discounts of over 50%, double top up, free gifts and prize giveaways. The team went through each community in motorcade fashion with the Digicel train climaxing in the community of Soufriere where Digicel brightened the lives of the fire victims who lost their belongings in the October fire.
The Soufriere square was bustling with representatives from Digicel and with residents as they participated in the Christmas promotion sale and awaited the presentations of cheques to the fire victims totaling EC$30,000. Gregory George, Smith Bruneau, Dara Charles, Joseph Gilbert, Marcellus Jn. Pierre and John Barnette were among the recipients who received cheque donations from Digicel. Each recipient expressed heartfelt thanks for the contributions which are geared at assisting them in returning to a life of normalcy.
Siobhan James-Alexander, Country Manager-Digicel St. Lucia said, “We have traditionally gone into the communities to brighten residents’ Christmas, and this year is no different as we go from one community to the next! We at Digicel are always prepared to provide assistance to the communities we serve and to persons in need. “Upon hearing of the devastating fire in the Soufriere town, we felt obliged to assist the victims and help brighten their Christmas. We do hope that the donation made to them today will assist in recovering the items which they have lost and hopefully they, too, can have a brighter Christmas and enjoy the season.”
