Digicel Enriches Jazz Island-wide

For 2016 Digicel has strategically partnered with a number of community-based organizations in their presentation and offering of their very own unique extraordinary jazz experience. Digicel Jazz Calendar commences today, Saturday April 9th at the National Cultural Centre in partnership with Sisterhood in the hosting of the annual ‘Jazz Sampler’. The event will be held under the theme ‘The Master and the Apprentice’ starting at 8pm and hosted by Errol Fabian. Digicel’s support for one of Saint Lucia’s most rapidly developing community Jazz products, the Soufriere Creole Jazz, continues as a proud platinum sponsor. The Soufriere Creole Jazz line-up boasts two of the world’s most sensational performers: Maxi Priest from Jamaica and Wyclef Jean, along with many other stellar acts. The event has further blossomed into a two-day celebration with a street festival element being introduced on Saturday April 30th which will feature local artisans and a wide variety of artistic display. The Soufriere Mini Stadium will then come alive on Sunday May 1st for the patrons’ Party under The Pitons to pulsating Caribbean rhythms.

Digicel continues its support for the uniquely distinctive Monchy Mizik en Kweyol for 2016 – a free community event scheduled for May 3rd with performances from Secret band, DYP, the Royal Saint Lucia Police band and many more.

The Vieux Fort, Marigot and Choiseul communities are also major beneficiaries of Digicel’s Jazz investment. The Marigot Development Committee is all set to host Marigot Jazz 2016 scheduled for April 30th. Jazz En Choiseul, new to the Jazz calendar, promises much entertainment with a fusion of local artistes and different genres of music on May 14th at the Piaye Waterfront. The community of Vieux Fort will once again be host to the 2016 Jazz Finale with the annual Vieux Fort Mouveman Ansanm on May 15th.
