Digicel in School Website Development

As the leading telecommunications company in innovation and technology, Digicel continues its promotion and development of ICT initiatives across the island. In a recent collaboration with the Ministry of Education for the National Primary School Website Development Competition, Digicel, on Wednesday July 6th, rewarded the top achievers in this programme.

The competition was aimed at enhancing students’ theoretical and practical skills in web development, increasing visibility for schools with web presence and infusing information technology into the school curriculum at an earlier stage. This opportunity also allowed schools to better engage their alumni and remain current in the advancement of the school affairs.

Given the heavy focus on technology in this initiative, it was only natural that as the leading telecommunications company in the region we pioneer something as revolutionary as this. We are grateful to the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development for the opportunity to partner and contribute to their quest of increasing access to information for all St. Lucians.”
