As thousands of St. Lucian students get set for the new school year 2016-2017, Digicel has launched yet another exciting commercial offer to get kids ready for Back to School and assist parents with school expenses. Dubbed ‘Bring the Beat for Back to school’, Digicel’s August promotion will reward eight lucky customers with prizes of five hundred dollar school vouchers plus backpacks loaded with stationary. Additionally, over two hundred customers will also get a chance to win Digicel Back to School backpacks, lunch bags, pencil cases, exercise books, school supplies and more. To qualify for this promotion, customers need to simply top up with $10 or more or purchase a smartphone from the new range of Digicel DL smartphones.
Customers will also get the chance to Bring the Beat for Back to School for Digicel’s August Text to Win promotion. To participate, both prepaid and postpaid customers simply text ‘SCHOOL’ to 7171’ for their chance to win a brand new laptop.
Marketing and Communications Executive at Digicel, Miss Louise Victor, commented on the launch of this new promotion, saying; “As a company with a strong social conscience, we are cognizant of the economic pressures that some families may have to endure in preparing their kids for back to school, hence the composition of our prizes for this Back to School promotion. We believe that five hundred dollars plus school supplies and stationary can undoubtedly go a long way in helping to equip a child for the new school year. Additionally, in this advanced era of educating and teaching using increasingly new technologically savvy methods, we believe the prize of a laptop for the Text to Win component of this campaign is very fitting. We therefore encourage all customers to take advantage of this promotion as there is truly something for everyone.”
Digicel is also contributing positively to the lives of young people during the school summer break across the island through various partnerships with a host of summer programs. Historically, Digicel has partnered with various national organizations, community groups and voluntary groups in the execution of their summer programs in various communities, and 2016 is no different. Camp Lajwa, organized by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, Sports Academy Summer Camp, Kidznet Summer Camp, Babonneau Community Summer Camp and the Cultural Development Summer Arts Programme are all recipients of support from Digicel in the execution of their programs.
