Officers attached to the Vieux Fort Police Station were summoned to an abandoned building at the Vieux Fort Industrial Estate on Thursday, April 11 at about 8:15 am. On arrival, officers discovered 61-year-old Tita Wilfred of Belvedere Street, Vieux Fort laying face down inside.
She was transported to St Jude’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post mortem examination was performed on her body and results indicate Tita Wilfred died as a result of brain damage secondary to a head injury. Investigations into the matter continue.
