For the weekend of January 21 to 24, the Saint Lucia Fire Service made ninety-seven ambulance responses, which is inclusive of both the North and the South of the island. Six of these responses were made to motor vehicular incidents and five to calls relating to physical assault. There were three fire calls recorded.
- On Saturday January 22, at 11:45 a.m., emergency personnel at the Fire Service Headquarters responded to a call at Vigie, Castries relating to a structural fire. The fire suppression team found a wooden and concrete structure measuring approximately 45 x 15 feet engulfed in flames. The fire, which was quickly extinguished, left the dwelling structure with fire and water damage. No other properties were reported affected or persons reported injured as it relates to this incident.
- Emergency personnel at the Vieux Fort Crash Fire Hall received a call on Friday 21 January at 5:10 p.m. informing of an assault on an individual by a dog.
The responding officers found the individual lying on the ground on his back, with his wounds bandaged by a nurse who was on the scene. An assessment done by ambulance personnel revealed that the patient sustained several large wounds to his arms and legs. He was transferred to the ambulance where rapid emergency transportation was provided to the St Jude Hospital.
