Fatal Accident Claims One Life

On Wednesday, October 30, 2013 about 10:30 a.m., a serious vehicular accident occurred at Etangs, Soufriere. Consequently, officers attached to the Soufriere Police Station responded.

On arrival, they obtained information which indicates that a motor cycle registration number unknown and an omnibus registration number M1237 had collided before slamming into utility poles on either side of the road.

At the time of the accident, the motor cycle was driven by 39 year old Kentius Herman of Delcer, Choiseul while the motor omnibus was driven by 38 year old Kendal Morfat of Dacretin, Choiseul. The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.

As a result of the accident, both drivers and two passengers from the omnibus sustained serious injuries and were transported to Soufriere Hospital. The driver of the motor cycle, Kantius Herman was pronounced dead on arrival. The other injured parties were treated and admitted.

An investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
