Father of accident victim appeals for public assistance

In the early hours of November, 30 2012 on the Bexon main road, four people were returning to Castries after celebrating one of their 31st birthdays. This road is very straight and can be quite quick if there is little traffic. In the early hours there was none. There is a particularly bad bend, which can be tricky and there are no warning/speed signs. On this bend the driver lost control and careered off of the road, resulting in a fatal accident. Those on board included Maria Felicien: 31 years of age, the driver and whose birthday they were celebrating. She died and leaves behind a four -year-old son. Her funeral was on Friday, December 14, just days before Christmas. Twenty-three-year-old Tiffany Felicien: a passenger suffered multiple arm and leg fractures and it will be a long time before she can learn to walk again. Twenty-four-year-old Lance Montoute aka Mac 11, also a passenger suffered multiple injuries and is now blind in one eye. Twenty-three-year-old Raquel Harris, a passenger suffered severe damage to her neck vertebrae and is now paralyzed from the chest down, hopefully temporarily. She was air lifted to Martinique where she underwent surgery and although making a recovery is still paralyzed. The suffering has been great and this appeal is for funds to alleviate the financial pressure on the families. There is a long recovery ahead for all survivors. Should you find it in your hearts to make a donation, you can make a deposit to the Bank of St Lucia, Swift Code BOSLLCLC, to the following account: The Rotary Club of Gros Islet-Accident Victims, Account # 801002136. Thank You and May God Bless You.
