Fire Service Attend to Multiple Separate Shooting Incidents and Fatal Accident over the Weekend

Accident at Bexon

  • A response was made from the Fire Service Headquarters to Bexon, for a head on collision between a motorcycle and a car at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday March 5.

The arriving personnel found an individual, who was identified as the rider of the motorcycle, lying on the road. A rapid assessment revealed that the patient sustained abrasions and lacerations to his body and an apparent fracture to one of his legs.  He was immobilized on a spine board and provided rapid emergency transportation to a medical facility.

The driver of the other vehicle signed the release form, refusing medical attention.

Shooting at Peynier St.

  • Emergency personnel at the Fire Service Headquarters responded to an alleged shooting incident on Peynier Street in Castries, on Sunday 5 March at approximately 9:15 a.m.

The fire officers found on the scene a man appearing to be in his forties in the presence of police officers. A rapid examination of the individual revealed that there were several penetrating wounds present on his body. Emergency intervention was initiated by the crew. The patient remained in a stable condition en route to the OKEU Hospital, where he was handed over to medical personnel for further care.  

Shooting at Millet

Officers at the Fire Service Headquarters responded to an emergency call on Monday  March 6 at approximately 12:05 p.m.

The information received stated that there was an alleged shooting incident, at Tet Chemin in Millet. 

En route to the scene, the emergency crew was intercepted by a vehicle carrying an injured male individual. A rapid assessment revealed that the patient sustained a wound to his hand. His wound was treated and he was transported to the OKEU Hospital in a stable condition.

Shooting At Fond Assau, Babboneau

Officers at the Fire Service Headquarters and Babonneau Fire Station responded to an emergency call at Fond Asson in Babonneau on Sunday 5 March at approximately 10:15 p.m. 

It was reported that there was an alleged shooting and motor vehicular incident.

The responding officers were informed by the police officers on the scene that one unknown individual was transported to a medical facility via private means before the arrival of the Fire Officers.

However, a young man appearing to be in his late twenties was found in a vehicle. A rapid assessment of the victim revealed that he sustained a penetrating wound to his head and was void of all vital signs. Due to the obvious signs of death, the scene was left in the care of members of the police force.

Shooting at Reduit Beach

On Saturday March 4, emergency personnel at the Gros Islet Fire Station responded to an alleged shooting incident at Reduit Beach in Gros Islet at approximately 2:25 p.m.

The responding officers found a young male individual in the presence of police officers. Upon examination of the individual’s body, one penetrating wound was found. Emergency medical care was provided and the patient was transported to the OKEU Hospital in a stable condition.
