For many Flow customers, last weekend’s Manchester United FA Cup final was more than just a match, it turned out to be a major festive celebration! On Saturday Flow organised a Manchester United FA Cup viewing party at Keebees Bar in Rodney Bay and invited customers from all over Saint Lucia to go along and enjoy the match, which was viewed live on large-screen TVs in high definition. It was an event not to be missed. Many football fans braved the inclement weather to take advantage of the opportunity to see Manchester United go head to head with Crystal Palace in what promised to be a thrilling encounter.
There was non-stop excitement as the audience became engrossed in the match and cheered on their respective teams, right on down to extra time when Manchester United blasted the winning goal to defeat Crystal Palace 2-1 and capture the English FA Cup for the first time since 2004.
Flow made the event even more enjoyable by treating its guests to eats and drinks. They also got the chance to win Manchester United memorabilia including mugs, bags, towels and key rings.
In addition to this event in Saint Lucia, the Caribbean’s leading telecommunications company hosted FA Cup viewing parties in Flow markets throughout the Caribbean simultaneously, thereby giving its customers a wonderful experience they won’t soon forget. They were also able to view Manchester United fans in the various islands and connect with them via social media using smartphones and other digital devices. All of this was arranged by Flow, using its superfast broadband and 4G services.
“Flow has always been at the forefront of providing Caribbean viewers with quality sporting content,” said Flow marketing and communications executive, Shermalyn Sidonie-John. “Thanks to our partnership with Manchester United we were able to ensure that football fans didn’t miss out on the FA Cup action. We know what our customers enjoy; that’s why our aim is to partner with the biggest sports brands in the world so that we can give them new and exciting ways to follow and experience the sports they love, while rewarding them at the same time.”
In December 2015 Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) and Manchester United agreed to a multi-year regional partnership aimed at developing football within the Caribbean by hosting Manchester United Soccer School competitions and coaching programmes within local communities.
Flow is also using the partnership to provide the club’s Caribbean fans with exciting opportunities to win match tickets and signed memorabilia, as well as the chance to interact with Manchester United legends and ambassadors.
