French authorities thank St Lucia

In a statement sent out last week the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent out a thank you to St Lucian and regional authorities for a rescue operation.

According to the statement on December 22nd, 2011, a catamaran on which fifteen young French nationals were cruising was wrecked off the south coasts of Saint Lucia.

The statement went on: “Immediately, a rescue operation had been put into place in order to help them. The quick and efficient mobilization of the Civil Security from Martinique, the French forces in the West Indies, the French Embassy to the OECS Member States in Saint Lucia as well as the Saint Lucian Authorities has permitted to avoid a disaster and to shelter the young French nationals, thanks to the helicopters.”

The statement went on: “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Saint Lucian Authorities for their effectiveness in these hard weather conditions and for the help they provided during the entire rescue operation.”
