Fuel-EfficiencyPETROLEUM PRICE CHANGE EFFECTIVE 28th JANUARY, 2013

In keeping with the scheduled review of prices under the modified market pass-through system for fuel, effective Monday, January 28, 2013, the prices of the following fuel products in Saint Lucia will remain unchanged as follows:

 

PETROLEUM PRODUCTS RETAIL PRICES
Gasoline $3.41  per litre or $15.49 per gallon
Diesel $3.38  per litre or $15.36 per gallon
100 Pounds Cylinder LPG $269.48 per 100 pound cylinder
20 Pound Cylinder LPG $34.20 per 20 pound cylinder
Bulk LPG $5.92  per kilogram

 

However, the price of kerosene will increases from $2.72 to $2.77 per litre.

Based on the above prices, the government is continuing to subsidize the 20 pound cylinder of cooking gas (LPG) at a rate of $18.30 per cylinder for the next three months. This is projected to cost the government roughly $2.8 million for that period.

Fuel prices in Saint Lucia compares favourably to current prices in the Eastern Caribbean countries for most products. The table below shows the fuel prices (in EC$) for the various Caribbean countries as of Friday, January 25, 2013:
