Participants of the Gros Islet Youth Football Program (GYFP) were recipients of 24 school Packs on Saturday following their regular training which takes place weekly at the Gros Islet Playing field.
Each school pack which contained a school bag, binders, note books, pens and pencils, rulers and calculators were presented to the youths by the Administrator of the Program, Jennifer Gaston.
Gaston indicated that the donation of such important items were given by Saint Lucians living in the United States who were appreciative of the (GYFP) and the impact it was having on the discipline and behavior of the youths. She also made special mention and gave a special thank you to Alex Baptiste who was the main person behind the organization of the contribution and ensuring that it reached St Lucia.
The Packages were distributed to mainly the primary school students and others who were in need.
