The 2015 Heineken Green Synergy summer long DJ competition will climax this Sunday August 30 when the final showdown takes place at Fond D’or, Dennery. There, 12 DJs will be seeking to wrest the crown off the head of DJ Mad X the 2014 winner. The winner of this year’s competition will walk away with EC$10,000, a trophy and other prizes.
The 2015 Heineken Green Synergy finals is being held in two segments, a clash component as well as the main event – the mix and tricks segment. The finalists in the main event are Xtatik Entertainment, DJ Play, C-4, DJ Mikey, DJ Y, DJ Moko, DJ Wayne, Swal-I, Hyper Supreme, DJ Sniper and people’s choice DJ Leus and Lil Yute. The clash DJs are Run It Red, DJ Omega, Thurum, Lil Yute and DJ Twis.
A panel of judges will preside over the event, which will see each DJ play for ten minutes. In the clash component, the DJs will be required to go tune for tune with a minimum of five songs. Sunday’s event will also feature a number of guest DJs and performances including an appearance by Scratch Master, who will also serve as one of the judges for the event.
Trinidadian born, Keron “Scratch Master” Hector is a DJ and program director at SLAM 101.1 FM in Barbados. He is an accomplished and versatile music and audio professional and also a renowned DJ / remixer / mixing engineer for mega acts such as Machel Montano, Bunji, Patrice Roberts, Problem Child, Skinny Fabulous, and many more. Scratch Master will on Saturday August 29 host a workshop for the finalists, ahead of Sunday’s finals which takes place at Fond D’or, Dennery. Gates open at 4 pm and tickets cost EC$15.00.
