Saint Lucia’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sharon Belmar-George has outlined the process for citizens requiring a COVID-19 test in order to travel overseas.
“If you need to leave the island —and we note that a lot of the Caribbean islands and other places are asking for the test —you can get a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at the Gros Islet Polyclinic or the Vieux Fort Wellness Center at a cost of US$100.00,” said Dr. Belmar-George. “Now we are only charging persons who need it to travel. All of the services for COVID-19, for treatment and care, have remained free of charge.”
The CMO indicated that results are normally received within 24 hours. She made the comments during an appearance on Timothy Poleon’s Newsspin program earlier today.
