Homicide in Morne Du Don

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 35-year-old Tennyson Lionel also known as “ten cents” of Ciceron, Castries.

On Thursday, July 30, 2015 about 2:30 a.m. police responded to a report of shooting at Morne Du Don, Castries.

Upon arrival, the police discovered Lionel in a prone position on the road in what appeared to be a pool of blood.

Lionel was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. He reportedly sustained two gunshot wounds.

Lionel who reportedly celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, July 29 was the victim of a robbery and chopping incident last year. In 2012 he was charged for possession of a controlled drug and possession with the intent to supply a controlled drug to which he pleaded guilty.

Lionel’s death marks the thirteenth homicide in Saint Lucia for 2015.
