The 2016 edition of Hot Couture, which forms part of the annual Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, was launched here on Thursday March 31. The activity took place at the Royal St. Lucian hotel. The event this year is being presented by the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and Cinnamon Productions. At the press launch on Thursday Director of Tourism Louis Lewis spoke of the collaboration between the SLTB, which he says will be in the background, and Cinnamon Productions which has experience in staging such events.
Hot Couture 2016 is being dubbed “Masterpiece -an evening of confidence and style” and will be held May 4 at the Sandals Grande Ballroom.
On May 5 the trunk showcase will be renamed “Design District” and will be held at Serenity Park in Castries. The event will make available for purchase some of the pieces displayed at the fashion show. According to Joycie Mederick of Cinnamon Productions it will also showcase different aspects of fashion including makeovers.
Mederick unveiled the cast of designers who will be on show at this year’s event, to include Saint Lucian as well as regional and international designers. Home-grown designers include Christine Samuel of Christy Creations, Clariscia Gill (based in London), Victor Lascaris of Rafferty Intimates, Myriam Moffitte (based in the US), Sharmaine Anatole and Kimberly Charlery.
