[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith less than one week before the neon fun of February 25, the organisers of the DASH Colour Run have increased their reach with several new pop-up registration locations aside from the traditional outlet at Bay Walk Mall.

Organisers say the new locations are in response to rising calls for more options from budding DASHers anxious that they might miss out on the most fun event on the independence calendar.

So, come Sunday February 18, the DASH team will make its way to the south of the island, nestling on the busy Sandy Beach in Vieux Fort. Families enjoying a day of sand, sea and sun can register for a little colour in their independence weekend.

And embracing its new partnership with the Saint Lucia National Youth Council (SLNYC), the DASH team will be present at Constitution Park in Castries on Wednesday February 21 at the anticipated Youth Exposé. The team will be anchored in the city providing yet another opportunity for DASHers to register.

The Exposé will also showcase the work of some 20 brilliant young artists, from photographers to painters, entrepreneurs, fashion designers and many more.

This will be followed by a lunchtime schools’ choir concert and live cooking demonstration by a young local chef. Later in the afternoon a selection of dancers and singers from the island’s local reservoir of youth talent will be on show.

“The National Youth Council has really been doing a lot lately to make their presence known and we are happy to join hands with such a young and dynamic group. It makes us feel great to know that another group of young people are doing what they can for the betterment of other young people,” said Dione Benn, partner at LiiVe Productions, the organising body of DASH.

Roberta Rose, also partner at LiiVe Productions, said the team is elated about the opportunity to showcase DASH in such a youth-driven setting, expressing hope that the DASH reach can be further amplified from this event.

“We are happy to bring DASH directly to the youth and directly through another independence activity,” Rose said.

The 2018 edition of the DASH Independence Colour Run is being presented as its Neon Edition and comes in tandem with a 2020 vision geared towards sports and the development of athletes poised to represent Saint Lucia at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Major partners in this year’s staging of DASH Colour Run include Baywalk Mall, Tropical Shipping, Yello!, KFC, LumNat, Ministry of Sports and LUCELEC.

123 Digital, Capella Marigot Bay, Renwick, Exelsign, Rituals, Repts, Cream & Bean, Sandals Resorts, Media Zone/Choice TV, Vybe Radio, The Wave, Notox Girls, the Larcher Group, Shoe Rehab and the Foot Spa, CrossFit758, Ever Green Rodney Bay Plaza, Colcafe, Nood, Lasco, Carib Vybe, Crystal Clear Waters, Crix, ECCO, Blazin FM and others are also supporters of this year’s DASH.

DASH 2018 will take place on February 25 beginning at 6 a.m. at Massy Mega at the Choc Roundabout. DASHers will make their way down to the Independence Village in Rodney Bay between Baywalk and JQ Malls where the fun continues in the most colourful of ways.
