ISE tops Veterans

Action during play in the National Men’s Basketball League.

In Premier League action at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, VBCC won by default following a no show BBC, while in Division One action at the Gros Islet Facility, ISE Club kept their undefeated streak alive when they rallied late against Veterans to win 64-58.

Veterans led for most of the fourth quarter but with the game tied 58-58, a three point go ahead field goal was nailed by Lance Prospere of ISE puttinG them in command with 45 seconds left in regulation.

Veterans missed some critical free throws down the stretch and ISE sealed the victory themselves on the free throw line with a final score of 64-58.

For ISE their Monster Player of the Game was Joel Polius with his double-double of 19 points (pts) and 13 rebounds (rebs). Lance Prospere also chipped in with good long range shooting, going five for nine from long distance for his 16 pts and three steals.

For Veterans, it was Marcellus Steide playing like it’s 1989 with a double-double of 18 pts and 14 rebs. He was aided by point guard Dexter Cumberbatch, with some timely shooting for his 13 pts and three assists which proved not enough in the end for Veterans.
