JOB OPPORTUNITY: World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is currently recruiting for the position of: Project Director, in Guyana for a new project in Guyana called Empowering the Next Generation: Agency and Gender Equality (ENGAGE Youth). This position is open to suitably qualified Canadians, those legally allowed to work in Canada and to CARICOM Nationals and the initial posting will be for a period of two (2) years.Â
PROJECT OVERVIEW: The ENGAGE project aims to increase participation and inclusion of Guyana’s most remote, marginalized, and poorest populations in regions predominantly occupied by Indigenous people. Interventions will focus on marginalized indigenous populations, women and youth in Guyana and will include: providing opportunities to improve civic participation; increasing access to resources; and fostering more meaningful engagement in decision-making.
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the WUSC Director of Programs, and working in close collaboration with the Senior Program Officer (SPO) in WUSC Ottawa, the WUSC Guyana Project Director is responsible for overall Strategic Leadership of the ENGAGE project.
