Area of Responsibility:Performs financial and administrative duties including, but not limited to processing transactions and management of accounts; financial analysis; maintaining control measures; participating in the development of work programmes and budgets; inventory management; engaging in administrative matters; and conducting research, to provide effective support for the operations and financial management of free zones.

  DUTIES AND TASKS   Assists in the preparation of business proposals, loan requests, budgets and financial reports by inputting data to maintain financial systems, conducting research and participating in the dissemination of outputs, to permit statutory compliance and support strategic objectives.   Undertakes  the updating of the chart of accounts by ensuring the classification and recording of revenue, expenses, liabilities and fund balances as prescribed; reconciling records and addressing variances; and preparing relevant reports, to facilitate financial management in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.   Supports the collection of fees by reviewing accounts to reconcile records and facilitate invoicing, providing pre-approved information, verifying receipts and facilitating deposits, to enable the achievement of revenue targets in a manner that engenders accountability and positive client relations.   Analyses account activities through the review of journals, ledgers, registers and other records or transactions; participates in the evaluation of internal control systems; provides recommendations; and collaborates with auditors, in verifying the management of financial records in compliance with tax administration and financial accounting principles.

Maintains an inventory management system for receiving, recording and issuing stock; prepares requisitions and purchase orders; and participates in stocktaking, in order to enable the availability of resources for official work activities.    
  DUTIES AND TASKS   Conducts backups in accordance with standard operating procedures, undertakes verification tests and collaborates with subject matter experts in ensuring the integrity of financial accounting and administrative systems.   Develops and updates standard operating procedures by conducting research and participating in the monitoring and evaluation of operations, to provide guidelines to minimize breaches and foster a safe environment.   Performs any other job-related duties as may be assigned.  

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES   Expert knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures, with the ability to accurately input financial records.   Advanced knowledge of administrative theories, principles and procedures.   Advanced written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare prescribed reports and key metrics.   Advanced analytical skills.   Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.   Intermediate organizational and time management skills.   Intermediate computer literacy skills with the ability to manipulate accounting software such as QuickBooks and other accounting software, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs.   Emotional intelligence and Self Awareness, with the ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in work activities.   Ability to prioritize workload to adapt to changing demands.    Ability to conduct training and development activities in accordance with established principles.    Ability to maintain records management and inventory management systems.  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Master of Science Degree in Finance and Administration, Financial Management, Accounting or related field of study from an accredited institution, with at least three (3) years work experience in an accounting administrative environment. Accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CGA or other.

OR

Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Administration, Financial Management, Accounting or related field of study from an accredited institution, with at least five (5) years work experience in an accounting administrative environment.
