Judge to deliberate after nearly 7-hour Deputy Speaker Case

Justice Rohan A. Phillip is now tasked with making a decision in the contentious Martinus Francois vs Andy Daniel suit. The trial got underway a little after 9:00 am today, Tuesday. In attendance at the virtual hearing were defense attorneys Dexter Theodore and Seryozha Cenac, their client House Speaker Andy Daniel and claimant Martinus Francois.

The hearing which was held via Zoom lasted for almost 7 hours, with both the claimant and defense putting forward their arguments.

At the end of the proceedings, Justice Phillip told the parties: “The decision of the court is reserved to a date to be notified by the court office. The Court certainly needs time to consider all that has been placed before it.”
