JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP TO ITS BOARD

Junior Achievement’s new Board of Directors.

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]r. Kirt Hosam was named Chairman of the Board of Junior Achievement after serving in the capacity of acting chairman subsequent to the untimely passing of Mr. Christian Husbands in June 2017. Mr. Hosam is the OECS Learning & Development Manager for Unicomer (Courts) and the Executive Director of the SURE Foundation where its focus is on youth and national development. Mr. Hosam has served as a Director for the past eleven years and is the current Chairman of the programs sub- committee.

Junior Achievement also welcomed first-time board members Mrs. Sariah Best Joseph who was appointed Vice Chair and Mrs. Thecla Fitz- Lewis, Managing Director of Lewis Industries Ltd and 1st Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, with Mr.  Terry George, Estate Manager of Union Vale Estate also accepting the invitation to serve  and to represent the World’s Finest Chocolate and Union Vale Estate on the Christian Husbands Agripreneurial Project (CHAP).

“Serving as Chairman of the board and supporting the JA Program is a tremendous honor and I look forward to working with a team who possess a wealth of knowledge and experience and who are passionate about youth development and the JA program.”

During the meeting members unanimously agreed to Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy continuing in her role as the Patron of the nonprofit she has zealously supported for the last 20 years.

Other Members of the board include Mr. Benjamin Menald, Mr. Jonathan Allain, Ms. Angela St Denis, Mrs. Janice Glasgow, Mrs. Etheline Leonce, Mrs. Shanelle Mc Vane Fulgence, Mr. Anselm Mathurin, Mrs. Debra Tobierre, Ms. Pauline Wolff, Ms. Fayola Ferdinand, Ms. Sherydan Plummer and Mr. Brian Louisy.
