Kickoff to Blackheart Promo matches

Action from Sunday’s game between Desruisseaux (l) and Dennery.

A reasonable crowd turned out Saturday afternoon at the Dennery Playing Field as Blackheart Productions in conjunction with the Dennery Youth and Sports Council, staged two matches to kick off it’s promotional warm up matches.

In the opening encounter the Dennery Under 20 team and Mon Repos played to a three all draw. The under 20 lads from Dennery at one stage in the encounter led 3-0. Scoring for the Dennery Under 20’s were Marlon Gilbert the younger brother of former national winger Nayim Gilbert who scored two and Azard Faucher who got the other.

For Mon Repos their scorers were Rohan Lesmond and Shervin Charles from the penalty spot and Hazel Charlery.

In the feature game of the afternoon Dennery, the defending Blackheart Knockout Champions, gave an indication that they would not relinquish their title easily this year with a three goals to one win over Desruisseaux. Thomason Joseph with an own goal and strikes from Mc Gyver Raymond and Winel Felix gave Dennery their three goals while Lwanga “Coco messi” Willie converted for Desruisseaux.

More warm up promotional play off matches will be played this coming weekend. The action is scheduled for the Grace Playing Field in Vieux Fort North on Saturday afternoon and at the Sab Sporting Facility on Sunday, which is a whole day affair.
