LIME Francophonie Spelling Bee Champs

The participants in the 2015 Secondary Schools Francophonie Spelling Bee have all come in for high praise from LIME following the successful conclusion of this year’s competition.

St. Lucia’s leading telecommunications provider was a sponsor of the event hosted by the Saint Lucia National Commission for UNESCO and the Ministry of Education in observance of International Francophonie Day. LIME is a regular sponsor of the competition, which is held annually.

Darla Willie is this year’s Francophonie Spelling Bee champion. She secured the title for Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School (Beanfield) after fending off a stiff challenge from Abigail Francis of Vieux Fort Secondary School (La Resource) in the finals, last Friday at the National Cultural Centre. The two contenders stood toe to toe with contestants from other schools and slogged it out to make it through to the grand finale. Coming in at third place, was Nykisha Monrose of Corinth Secondary School.

For their gallant performance LIME rewarded the first and third place winners with a Lenovo laptop, plus 1 year’s free mobile credit and an Alcatel tablet respectively. Both devices offer a rich suite of features that are easily optimized on LIME’s robust networks.

“It’s always exciting to be a part of the Francophonie Spelling Bee and we’re very proud to have been a sponsor,” said LIME Marketing & Communications Executive, Sharlene Jn. Baptiste. “We wish to commend the organizers for an excellent job in hosting the event and congratulate the participants for their excellent performance.”
