LIME Helps NCF Telethon towards $250K Target

LIME has renewed its support for the National Telethon once again as Saint Lucia and the Caribbean’s leading communications provider reaffirms its partnership with the National Community Foundation (NCF) ahead of this year’s event.

The 2014 NCF National Telethon, the 11th edition, is scheduled for 1 August. LIME is the official telecommunications sponsor of the event and is contributing cash along with free broadband Internet service, landlines and telephones, ISDN lines to facilitate live media broadcast of the telethon and DIA lines for credit card donations.

LIME has also provided the NCF with a toll-free number for the public to call and make their pledges and shortcodes for texting so that contributions could be made via text messages. LIME technicians will be available to provide whatever technical assistance is needed throughout the event.

The National Telethon is the annual flagship fundraising event for the NCF. LIME was one of the first original corporate sponsors of the event which began in 2003. This year, the NCF hopes to raise in excess of $250,000.

Patrons can look forward to another exciting, fun-filled family event featuring musical performances from several of Saint Lucia’s leading artistes in various genres. There will also be lots of delicious treats on sale and a variety of games and activities for the kids, such as a bouncing castle, lucky dip and face painting.

NCF Executive Director, Madonna Monrose, said,  “We want to offer our sincere thanks for the wonderful support we have received from LIME over the years. Not just for their donations but for their partnership which has helped to significantly increase awareness and inspire others to support the National Telethon.

“We at the NCF pride ourselves on making optimum use of the donations we receive and every dollar raised during the event will have direct impact on the critical assistance programs provided to families and persons in need.”
