With the 2013 Saint Lucia Carnival season now in full swing and things hotting up in the calypso arena, some of the island’s leading calypso tents are joining forces with LIME, the Caribbean’s leading telecommunications provider in preparation for this year’s competition.
LIME has renewed its partnership with Ambassadors, as well as the newly amalgamated Take Over Tent and Soca Village tents. From here on in it’s all systems go as the calypso contenders are off and running and the battle is very much on for the Calypso Monarch 2013.
As part of its sponsorship LIME is providing the tents with cash, telecommunications and advertising support. “We are proud to be teaming up with these fine organisations,” said Chris Williams, LIME Saint Lucia General Manager. “Together, we hope to make the 2013 calypso season and carnival a great success, not only for the calypso fans and revellers, but for the communities. Our commitment to giving back also extends to our customers, and as usual they can look forward to great deals, super savings, and fantastic giveaways from LIME for the season.”
The tent leaders all expressed their gratitude and appreciation for LIME’s support.
“As always, we are extremely grateful to LIME for their generous support and for their commitment and dedication to the development of Saint Lucia’s calypsonians and the art form over the years. Their contributions have gone a long way to sustaining one of Saint Lucia’s most beloved cultural traditions,” said Ambassadors Tent Leader, Fitzroy ‘Bingo’ Leon.
Over the past six years LIME has contributed more than a million dollars in cash and communications support to carnival and calypso tent activities and has sponsored several of Saint Lucia’s leading carnival bands and tents. In addition, the Cultural Development Foundation, Saint Lucia National Steel Bands Association, Panorama, and a number of community carnivals have all benefited from LIME’s support.
