It’s no secret St Lucian women have quite the knack for pageantry and this week another of the island’s beauties got the chance to show just what she’s made of at an esteemed regional pageant. 2010 National Carnival Queen Louise Victor took part in the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant held in St Kitts on Monday, August 6.
Confidence, charisma, talent and beauty were on showcase and contestants included Miss Dominican Republic; Suzan Castano, Curacao; Marvia Laurence, St Croix; Ashly Massaiah, Barbados; Jamilah Forde, Trinidad; Britney Alverez, Anguilla; Mardjah Smith, Nevis; Santonnya Mills, St Kitts; Trevicia Adams and Montserrat’s Claris Yearwood.
Pageant segments included Ambassadorial Wear, Swim Wear, Talent, Evening Wear and Intelligence. At the end of what turned out to be quite a heated competition Kittitian beauty, Trevicia “Barbie” Adams emerged winner. The pageant crown was passed onto the new winner from 2011 Miss Caribbean Culture, St Lucia’s very own Onyka McKoy. First runner up was Miss Curaçao who Adams considered her main competitor in a post pageant interview, followed by second runner up Louise Victor. Third runner up was none other than Miss St Croix!
In addition to her second runner up placing Louise won the Best Swimwear award. It’s hard not to compare Louise’s pageant result with that of 2011 Carnival Queen Roxanne Didier Nicolas’. Roxanne also placed second runner up in the recent Jaycees pageant held in Antigua and also secured the Best Swimwear title.
Best interview for the Miss Caribbean Culture pageant went to Miss Curacao, Best Promotional video; Miss Barbados, Miss Amity; Miss Anguilla, Miss Photogenic; Miss Montserrat, Best Ambassadorial wear; Miss St Kitts, Best Talent; Miss Montserrat and Best Evening Gown; Miss St Kitts.
