St Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) has named Moses Montoute of its Transmission and Distribution Department as the 2014 LUCELEC Employee of the Year. Mr Montoute joined the company in August 2012 and has been recognized multiple times as an Employee of the Quarter.
The Awards Committee broadened the scope of this year’s awards, recognizing a Technical Supervisor of the Year in Keithson Charles of the Transmission and Distribution Department, as well as Administrative Supervisor of the Year Villian Dolcy of the Customer Services Department.
Mr Charles has been employed with the company since September 2000 while Ms Dolcy has been employed with LUCELEC for 16 years.
LUCELEC also recognized two 2014 Departments of the Year; the Small Department of the Year – Corporate Communications Department and the Large Department of the Year- The Finance and Accounts Department.
The major awards were part of the annual LUCELEC Staff Appreciation Ceremony, held Friday February 27, 2015.
Special Achievement Awards were presented to Cornphia Simon, Alfred Prospere, Barnett George, Dayne Alexander, Ormond Reece and Randolph Daniel.
Additionally, a new category of awards in recognition of the company’s Core Values of Accountability, Excellence, Caring and Ethics were given to 18 employees whose work embodied some or all of these values.
After lauding staff for their efforts in 2014, Managing Director Trevor Louisy, in looking ahead to the company’s 2015 work programme, spoke of investments in alternative energy.
Six retirees- Anthony St Marthe, Gabriel James, Gregory Chandler, Claudius Maynard, Christine Williams and Anthony Etienne – were also presented with a Retirees Award.
