A man has been pronounced dead following an apparent electrocution in Cap Estate, Gros Islet. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has identified the victim as 32-year-old Deshay Louis of Monchy, Gros Islet. Leading Firefighter Stacy Joseph told the STAR that on Saturday, August 22 at about 4:50 pm, the Castries Fire Station received a call informing them of a possible electrocution.
“The responding emergency personnel found a male individual lying face down on the floor. An assessment revealed that the patient was unresponsive, breathless and pulseless with what appeared to be burn marks on his body. Due to the obvious signs of death, the police summoned a medical practitioner to the scene. The individual was later pronounced dead and the scene handed over to the police,” Joseph stated.
A post mortem is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26 at 9:00 AM.
