[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce has engaged the Castries Constiuency Council Mayor, Peterson Francis over the last year in discussions on the work of the Council, particularly in relation to the functionality, cleanileness and operations of the City. The Mayor has consisitenly indicated that the goal of the Council is to make the City of Castries more functional and a better place to live and work.
In its efforts to inform the business community of the pertienent issues and the wide ranging set of iniatives being pursued by the Castries Coustituency Council under the stewardship of Mayor Peterson Francis, the Mayor and his team will address the Chamber’s 3rd Executive Luncheon for the year on May 10th 2018, from 12:30 p.m. at the Ixora Conference Room, Bay Gardens Inn.
Among the initiatives which will be discussed are:
- The Redevelopment of the Castries Market
- The sidewalk rehabilitation program
- City tours
- A Vendor’s registration program
- Bus terminal and the parking terminal project.
- The Clean City Campaign & Waste Disposal
- Bananes Bay Project
- City Policing – aiming for a safer city
- Green spaces project & George the 5th Park upgrade
- Saturday City Nights
The various initiatives are geared at positively impacting businesses in the City with improving functionality and aesthetics, yet would require the support and participation of the businesses in the City to achieve a successful implementation and operation. Thus interacting and engaging the businesses through this Luncheon to get their feedback and views ais seen as part of the Council’s engagement strategy.
