M&C’s involvement in the Arts began in 1979 with the establishment of the M&C Fine Arts Awards Scheme as a gift to the Nation on its Independence. M&C is proud to see the continued growth of the Arts Festival under the patronage of the CDF.
The calendar of events for Artreach 2015 is extensive and far reaching and includes talent from the many communities throughout St. Lucia. This year, the National Arts Festival started its programme in Laborie in February with a community festival and exhibition and went on to produce a stellar performance on stage in Vieux Fort in celebration of St. Lucia’s 36th year of Independence.
One of the main goals of the CDF Artreach is to showcase the unique portfolios and talents of our young artists and to gain access to a wider audience, be it locally or regionally. One such talent is Gary Butte, a past participant of the M&C Fine Arts Awards, who is the featured Artist at this year’s Art exhibition.
