Mexican Embassy celebrates 10th Anniversary with Theatre Production

The Mexican embassy on Saturday evening hosted, free of charge, a theatrical production of “El Elcanto, Tendajon Mixto” by Elana Garro, in commemoration of the embassy’s tenth year in St. Lucia. The venue was the National Cultural Centre and the performance was open to the public.

Leading actors Miguel Kenswil and Shakira Roberts of YouthSPAC performing at the National Cultural Centre.
Directed by Kentilia Louis of Youth Studying Performing Arts and Culture (YouthSPAC), the event was co-produced with the embassy and portrayed the similarities between the Mexican and Saint Lucian cultures.

“Part of the company’s focus is helping explore plays and talents from around the region,” Ms Louis told The STAR. “As much as this production is Mexican, it is also very Saint Lucian in its feel.”
