Miss Piton in a Behind the Scenes Tour of the Making of Piton Beer

Miss Piton, Bernella Velinor, recently had a tour of Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited (WLBL). The exuberant 23-year-old Miss Piton met the team who produce the award-winning brew she will be representing today at the 2016 Carnival Queen Show and also had a first-hand experience on the production process of Piton Beer.

“It has been a very refreshing and enlightening experience,” she said. “I am grateful to my sponsor Piton Beer for organising this tour and supporting me on this journey. The encouragement that I have received from the staff at Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited has really given me the push to go for the gold! Knowing I have such a great support system, I am confident we will go home with the crown this year.”

Accompanying Miss Piton on the tour was Brand Manager Sylvester Henry who explained the role Piton Beer plays in the Carnival experience as a whole.

“We are a major sponsor of Carnival and we try to be involved in many aspects of the festivities. We understand the important role of the Carnival Queen Show Pageant in the overall Carnival product. The Queen Show is a staple on the Carnival calendar and is always one of the more anticipated events. We are happy to support the pageant which so many young women use as a platform to launch themselves and build their character and self-esteem. We are equally pleased with our contestant and her interest in our operations. We organised this tour to share information about Piton Beer, what we stand for and represent. We are a truly 100 percent Saint Lucian product and Miss Piton had a chance to see up close how it all comes together.”

He added that the team at WLBL will all be cheering for Bernella and wish her the best of luck in the competition.

The Piton Beer Brand Manager encouraged all Saint Lucians to come out and support Miss Piton and the other seven beautiful contestants competing for the prestigious title this evening at the National Cultural Centre.
