It is often said “winning a title is sometimes more difficult than defending it.” That was certainly the case when the St Lucia National Basketball Federation (SLBF) staged their All Star Weekend at the Beausejour Indoor Facility.

Turns out not a single title was retained, as new champions emerged in each of the events staged on All Star Weekend. Saturday’s SLBF Skills Challenge 2013 was won by Durocher Antoine from Canaries Moon River. The Cell Life is Mobile Three Point Shootout champion is Linzell Alcee from Soufriere. The EDL Monster Slam Dunk winner was Joel Polius from ISE Academy.

The first ever Celebrity game resulted in a win for the Celebrity/Sponsors with an impressive 53-42 victory over the SLBF All Stars. They were led by Francis ‘Leebo’ De Lima who received the MVP of the Celebrity Game.

The All Star Weekend concluded with the All Star Game. The Division One All Stars led by Slam Dunk champion Polius, sneaked away with a one-point win over the
Premier League All Stars
79-78.

Polius was named MVP for his 21 points and 11 rebounds while steering the Division One All Stars to victory.
