Negotiations between the Management of G4S Security Services Limited and the National Workers Union (NWU) have reached deadlock.
The parties have agreed on almost all the articles relating to fringe benefits. The establishment of a new wage structure relevant to armed guards, security officers and other related staff seems to be the areas of disagreement.
The NWU, during the talks, expressed appreciation for the payment of back pay on Overtime. The NWU also has every confidence that a third party at conciliatory level could help transform the current trend of discussions and ultimately resolve the impasse.
The NWU states that the security sector is an important one which is growing rapidly and creating jobs, but it is a sector which needs to be regulated.
