Prime Minister denies Grynberg allegation!

Government press secretary Darnley Lebourne released a statement yesterday from Prime Minister Stephenson King. Following is the statement which is in response to a letter from former minister Ausbert d’Auvergne which appeared in the Voice newspaper:
“I have been informed of a recent letter published in a local newspaper wherein, the former Senator Mr Ausbert d’Auvergne makes certain allegations regarding the renewal of the 2000  agreement between the former Prime Minister Kenny Anthony and the CEO of RSM Production  Corporation Mr Jack Grynberg.
“I have absolutely no recollection of the circumstances referred to by Mr d’Auvergne who I am told admits in his letter to the newspaper that from the moment I became Prime Minister my Government and I have sought ways by which to “extricate Saint Lucia from the provisions of the agreement signed by the former Prime Minister”.
“In correspondence dated 15th, December, 2008 and 18th, February, 2009 between RSM Productions and the Government of Saint Lucia, it can clearly be seen that at no time was there any expressed intention by the Government to renew the Grynberg agreement despite threats by the company of legal action against the Government.
“Let me take this opportunity to appeal yet again to the former Prime Minister, Kenny Anthony for any assistance he can give in bringing this regrettable episode to a satisfactory solution.”
