Prisoners escaped custody

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., two male prisoners escaped lawful custody whilst at the Richfond Police Station. They are 32-year-old Maquaid Alexander of La Caye, Dennery and 27-year-old Kevin Alphonse of Deniere Riviere, Dennery.

Both prisoners had appeared before the Second District Court in Dennery on Friday, September 26, 2014 and were remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facilty. Alexander was charged with possession of ammunition whereas Alphonse was charged with stealing from dwelling house. At the time of the escape, the prisoners were on commitment warrants and were to be transferred to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.

A search for the escaped prisoners immediately ensued. About 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014, Maquaid Alexander was recaptured at the junction of La Caye and Dennery.

Kevin Alphonse is still at large. Below is a photo of Alphonse. If anyone has information that can assist in the recapturing of Kevin Alphonse should contact the Richfond Police Station at telephone number 456 3690 or the nearest Police Station.
