One of the most well known names in fashion circles in Trinidad and Tobago and across the Caribbean, Richard Young, is this week teaming up with Aria cosmetics available here exclusively from Skin Science at the JQ Mall. The partnership will see four days of fashion related events unfolding beginning this Wednesday.

On Monday the STAR caught up with Young as he was rehearsing a team of Saint Lucian models for the annual “Fashion Fusion” at the JQ Mall. The event will be held this Wednesday November 27. “I am here as creative director for this fashion show and as a representative of Aria cosmetics which will be featured at the event along with what is available from twelve of the stores at the Mall,” Young told the Star. “I have selected a cast of about forty models who will be working to bring out this wonderful fashion spectacular ahead of the Christmas season at the mall,” he added. Young also disclosed that local bag designer Teribba of Meme Bête will be one of the featured designers during Wednesday’s event.

Then on Thursday, Young, who is the creative consultant and runway coach for Caribbean’s Next Top Model, will again be teaming up with Aria for a casting call for the next season of CNTM. “The last time around we did online castings but this time we have decided to visit the various islands including Saint Lucia to do this live casting call,” he says. This will be held at the Bay Gardens Hotel between 3pm and 6pm where organizers will seek to shortlist Saint Lucian model hopefuls for the reality TV show.  The casting call will be done in collaboration with JQ mall, Skin Science and Bay Gardens.

On Friday, ahead of another fashion show, Richard Young will offer make up tips to Saint Lucian women. The workshop, which will be held at the JQ Mall from 4-6 pm will deal with accentuating the positives. “Some people feel make-up is for a select set of people and so alienate themselves from even venturing into trying on make-up,” Young says. “But make-up does not have to be seen as a negative thing nor does it have to be pretentious or false,” he went on. On Friday along with the Aria line he will offer skin care tips as well as the use of one of the lines from Aria he has personally endorsed a lip line named “Levres Chaudres”.

Richard Young told the STAR that he always enjoys being in Saint Lucia amidst the warmth and hospitality of the people and the sheer beauty of the landscape. Over the last few years he has been working closely with Aria which is on a mission to become one of the leading and most admired independent personal care product companies providing consumers with exciting high-quality products. Aria and prestigious medical skin care brand names are available in Saint Lucia at Skin Science.
