Francis “Leebo” De Lima is a man of few words who often lets his music do his talking. This past weekend, the artistes and other members of the Saint Lucian music fraternity for whom he has written, produced and in some instances performed alongside rallied to his aid following news of his cancer diagnosis.
De Lima is currently hospitalized and in need of funding for urgent medical care.
Throughout his young career which began in the nineties, “Leebo”, as he is known, has been a founding member of the Kronic Heights Crew alongside producer Adam Gillmor and saxophonist Rob ‘Zi’ Taylor. He has also worked with a number of national artistes including Ronald “Boo” Hinkson, Teddyson John, Sedale, Alpha, Mongstar, Michael Robinson, Esteban, Invader and TC Brown.
Leebo joined with Mr Killa from Grenada with whom he penned the International hit “Rolly Polly” in 2014. He also teamed up with Bunji Garlin and Billy Ocean from Trinidad and Tabia from St Vincent.
A trained sound engineer whose Heights Music Production is based in Grande Riviere, Leebo is also the Musical Director for TEMPEST, a promotion and artiste development company that has produced mainstream music from Lisa Weekes, Zionomi, Level 4, Trish, K-Yo and Stacy Charles.
