The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College held its first ever National Day Road Relay on Friday, December 10th with a contingent of 20 male and female runners.
The event was the first face to face sporting activity since the start of the Pandemic and was organized with the approval of the CMO as well as the Police Operations and Traffic Departments.
Male and female athletes represented each of the four houses at the College – Francois, Lewis, Thomas and Walcott. The race took the format of a relay with clearly marked exchange points along the route.
The first place house was Francois house completing the route in a time of 29 minutes. The following athletes formed the Francois team:
1st Leg – Dhre Dornelly
2nd Leg – Ethan Leandre
3rd Leg – Jose Metcalf
4th Leg – Sherqwayne Prudent

4th Place – Lewis House (Time – 33:50:62)
Females
1st Place Thomas House (Time – 45:58:28)
The route followed the usual SALCC Road Race course starting at the first entrance to Ciceron on the Millennium highway, through to Cul de Sac, to Goodlands and the Morne and ending near the fountain at the College.
Activities in other sporting disciplines have been planned with Covid Safety guidelines and are expected to commence in January 2022.
