The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) stands in full support of the Royal St. Lucia Police Force as it undertakes an investigation into an incident that occurred on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on Thursday, January 27th, shots were fired at the company’s vehicle while three of the organization’s employees were on duty. The three employees are trained firearm holders for the purpose of their duties.
Fortunately, the SRDF staff were unharmed during the incident. We commend their swift action to safeguard their lives and get to the police quickly and safely.
Our priorities at this time are to ensure the physical and psychological health of our employees and to continue to give our full cooperation to the police to ensure that justice can be served.
The organization is committed to taking all necessary security and safety precautions to safeguard its employees and property.
The police investigation is active, and as such, the organization is mindful not to compromise the investigation in any way by engaging in speculation. We will be further guided by police findings.
