Splash Island Water Park, the Caribbean’s most exciting water-based attraction, recently hosted its first annual Ninja Warrior Competition on November 14th, 2015 on Reduit Beach.
The Ninja Warrior competition saw eight teams compete in three events which included 5 on 5 water volleyball, team relay time trials and individual time trials. Fifty two participants represented teams from LIME, Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports, the Body Holiday, Sea Adventures Inc. (Cox and Co.), Sandals Resorts International, The Aquaholics (Ricardo Sayers), Team Gregory Joseph (aka Zombie Robot Ninja Pirates) and Bay Gardens Resorts.
In the end, the Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports team was the overall competition winner with 25 points, capturing the title of “Splash Island Ninja Warrior Champions”.
In the 5 on 5 water volleyball, the Body Holiday took first place; second place went to The Aquaholics, and third place to Bay Gardens Resorts.
The team relay time trial competition was won by Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports in a time of 1 minute : 19 seconds. Second place – The Aquaholics; third place – LIME.
The individual time trial challenge saw Jonel Auguste from Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports placing first; second was Kerwin Biscette from Sea Adventures Inc. and third was Daryl Burton from Splash Island Water Park/Saluna Water Sports.
The competition was envisioned by Sanovnik Destang, Executive Director, Bay Gardens Resorts and Mrs. Julianna Ward-Destang, Managing Director, Splash Island Water Park, and patterned on the popular show, American Ninja Warrior. They both expressed their gratitude to all the volunteers, participants, and sponsors who included Monster Energy Drink, Blue Waters St. Lucia, the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association, Real FM and MBC Television.
“It was great to see all the participants of the various teams give it their very best in all three competitions and showcase the talent we have in St. Lucia. This was a fun and exciting competition and we hope to hold more of these in the very near future,” said Mrs. Julianna Ward-Destang, Managing Director, Splash Island Water Park.

The popular one-of-a-kind Caribbean water park also looks to hold its first ever Splash Olympics on December 19th, 2015 – a series of competitive events for age groups 6 – 9, 10 – 13 and 14 – 17.
