On Wednesday December 29th, St Lucia Distillers presented a container of water to the National Emergency Management Organisation NEMO, in its effort to assist persons who suffered from Hurricane Tomas and continue to experience water problems. The container of water which was donated by Angostura Limited in Trinidad in association with St. Lucia Distillers who is the distributor of some of its products in St Lucia, is expected to be distributed islandwide as water is critical to the survival of St Lucians.
Mr Franklyn Justin the Brand Manager for Angostura products in St Lucia and the presenter of the container of water indicated that in such a trying time with the water shortage situation, it was felt that such a presentation was the best possible gift to individuals during this time. He expects that it will go a long way though a forty foot container of water may still not be enough.
Miss Jennifer Gaston the Marketing and Communications Manager of St Lucia Distillers thanked the Angostura Limited Company of Trinidad for their assistance to St. Lucia through the water contribution and indicated St. Lucia Distillers will continue to support and assist St Lucia where possible.
The Deputy Director of NEMO Mr Julien Dubois was very pleased with the donation and indicated that the water will be distributed throughout the country and he expressed his organisation’s appreciation to Distillers and Angostura Limited for such a valuable contribution.
