St Lucia Football Association Results

By all means necessary a Central Castries defender tries taking the ball away from an Anse la Raye player in a game played in the Royal Club Under-20 Tournament.

Football action returned to the Mindoo Phillip Park over the weekend when the St Lucia Football Association staged a series of matches.

On Saturday the Royal Club Under-20 Football Tournament took place with an appreciative crowd in attendance. In the first semi-final Central Castries defeated a very
spirited Anse La Raye Team 2-1. Central Castries dominated and surged into the lead with goals from Shaquille Joseph in the 30th minute and Luc Anzilier in the 38th minute to go up 2-0 in the first half

On the resumption of play, Anse La Raye came into their own and applied countless pressure on their opponents and was eventually rewarded with a goal in the 81st minute. However, their efforts were in vain as Central Castries continued to dig deep and prevailed 2-1.

In the other semi-final Dennery outplayed Gros Islet 2-0. Much was expected from the lads from north, as their senior team had just successfully prevailed in the Black Heart Tournament. However, this was not to be as the players from the east coast stamped their authority from the opening whistle, to record a hard earn and deservedly victory.
