Two firearms have been seized following police operations in Dennery and Augier. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) provided details on the successful operations in a statement today, April 15.
The first operation was conducted on April 13 in Over the Bridge, Dennery. It resulted in “the recovery of a .380 Ruger Pistol and seven rounds of ammunition,” the RSLPF stated, adding that the discovery was made after a Warrant to Search for Property was executed on a residence.
“Two individuals, Medley Prospere alias Stew pork and a female below the age of 18 years, were arrested on the premises. They were both charged for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition and escorted to the First District Court.”
The RSLPF indicated that on April 14, Prospere “answered guilty to the charges and was fined $8000.00 for Possession of Firearm and $5000.00 for Possession of Ammunition. The matter relating to the female was referred to the Department of Probation Services for further intervention.”
A second operation was conduced in Pomme, Augier on April 14, “where a search was executed upon the premises of a 37-year-old resident. A 9mm Taurus pistol was recovered with eleven rounds of ammunition contained in its magazine. The male was arrested and remains in police custody pending charging.”
